Induction Checklist Examples & Samples

We are aware that checklist templates are documents that allow us to smoothly accomplish any task without missing anything out. Typically, checklists contain a list of things or tasks (usually accompanied by a tick box) which need to be considered or done.

A checklist can also be an effective accompaniment of plans, as in planning blank checklists. When planning an event, the planner usually needs the aid of a checklist to check for items (e.g. things to buy), and tasks (e.g. preparations).

What Is an Induction Checklist?

An induction checklist is a printable checklist that contains the process needed to be done upon the induction of an individual. Induction is the word given to the process of inducting an individual to an organization (in most cases, someone new to the said organization).

For example, when an employee has been recently hired in an organization, an induction usually takes place where the conducting officer briefs the employee of the processes, facilities, and policies of the company, especially the employee’s job description and tasks.

In this case, the conducting officer will need an induction checklist to be able to follow through the whole process of the induction without getting lost or forgetting something.

Importance of an Induction Checklist

Induction checklists will serve as the induction officer’s guide in the process of induction.

Having a checklist to follow will ensure that the induction will be done smoothly and according to the process listed without forgetting a process or two. It is important for an induction to be done properly, in order to avoid confusion on the employee’s part. An induction involves many steps and there is a high tendency of getting lost in the middle of the process, which is why the conducting officer needs to have a checklist to check from time to time.

In this case, an induction checklist, like any other checklist in pdf, will serve as an extension of the conducting officer’s memory.

Guidelines for Creating an Induction Checklist

Creating an induction checklist will ensure that one does an induction properly. This means that the induction checklist, like other checklists, needs to be created while carefully considering all the factors to be considered.

Here are some guidelines one needs to follow in creating an induction checklist:

  • Goals. And more goals. Here’s the thing: if you don’t have a goal, you’ll be less motivated. But if you have an end smart goal, you’ll have a reason to be more motivated  in doing your task well.
  • Points to be considered. Here you identify the necessary points to include in your checklist. List them down, create a timeline, and organize. Make sure you include everything necessary. So it is also important to go over your checklist after finishing it to see if there is anything you can add.
  • Processes. This includes a list of the processes you need to follow in the induction process. When writing these, you need to write each one clearly and simply (that way it will be easier to understand and comprehend).
  • Additional information. Consider other important information to be included in your checklist and write them down.
  • Areas to improve. Go over your checklist again. See if you can improve something.
