Auxiliary Verb to be Sentences
The verb “to be” can act as an auxiliary verb (helping verb) to form different tenses, especially the continuous and passive forms. As an auxiliary verb, “to be” helps describe ongoing actions or states and is followed by the present participle (ending in -ing) in continuous tenses or the past participle in passive sentences.
