Narrative

On October 21, 2024, at approximately 6:45 PM, I, Officer Michael Johnson, was dispatched to 123 Oak Street in response to a domestic violence call. Upon arrival, I spoke with the victim, Sarah Roberts, who reported that her husband, Mark Roberts, had physically assaulted her during an argument.

Sarah stated that the altercation began over a personal matter, and it quickly escalated when Mark became physically aggressive. According to Sarah, Mark shoved her against the wall, grabbed her by the arms, and slapped her in the face. I observed red marks on Sarah’s left cheek and bruising on her arms consistent with her account of the incident.

Sarah reported that this is not the first time Mark has been violent, but this is the first time she has contacted the police. She stated that she feared for her safety and the safety of their two children, ages 4 and 6, who were present in the home at the time of the assault but did not witness the altercation.

Mark was located inside the home and appeared intoxicated. He denied any physical violence but admitted to arguing with Sarah. Mark was taken into custody without further incident.

Sarah was provided with information on local domestic violence shelters and given advice on filing a restraining order. Child Protective Services (CPS) was contacted due to the presence of children in the home during the altercation.
