Dear Principal Hayes,
I hope this letter finds you well. My name is Everett Knox, a parent of Charlie Knox, who is in the fifth grade at Hometown Elementary School. I am writing to respectfully request permission for Charlie to be excused from school on February 20th and 21st.
The reason for this request is a family obligation that requires our presence out of state. This event is significant to our family, and it would mean a great deal for Charlie to be part of it. We understand the importance of school attendance and have discussed with Charlie the necessity of catching up on any missed work during his absence.
To ensure that Charlie stays on track with his schoolwork, we have arranged for him to:
- Obtain all his assignments in advance from his teachers.
- Dedicate time during our trip to focus on completing these assignments.
- Discuss what he learned from the experience, highlighting the value of family and cultural traditions, with his class upon our return.
We believe this experience will offer Charlie valuable lessons that extend beyond the classroom, embracing our school’s commitment to fostering well-rounded, socially responsible individuals.
I am more than willing to meet with you to discuss this request further. Thank you for considering our request, and I look forward to your positive response.
Warmest regards,
Everett Knox
