Today, we gather to celebrate a significant milestone in your lives. Graduation is not just an end; it’s a beginning. It’s a moment that marks the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and countless hours of perseverance. As you stand on the precipice of your future, I want to share a message about the power of unity and perseverance.

Unity is a force that binds us together, making us stronger as a collective than we could ever be individually. Throughout your time at Jefferson High School, you’ve experienced the importance of teamwork, whether it was in group projects, sports teams, or community service activities. You’ve learned that when people come together with a common goal, incredible things can happen.

Consider the story of a bundle of sticks. Separately, each stick is fragile and can easily be broken. But when bound together, they become nearly unbreakable. This is the essence of unity. As you move forward in life, remember that you are never truly alone. You are part of a community, a network of friends, family, and mentors who will support you. Cherish these connections, nurture them, and understand that your strength lies in your unity.

Perseverance is another vital quality that has brought you to this moment. There were times when the road was rough, when challenges seemed insurmountable, and when giving up might have seemed like the easier option. But you persevered.
